ipadlock for iZettle
With the service iZettle it has become easy to receive money with credit cards. It is now very popular among churches, and other organisations, who raises money for charity. For them and others using iZettle there is a new way to protect an iPad.
– I used iZettle myself and think it ‘s brilliant. But it gets a little wobbly with the ipad and the card reader, not so stable at a market or fair, where the plate passes around between different hands, says Thorbjorn Lidstrom.
He runs a mechanical workshop in Norrköping and decided to solve the problem. He built Ipadlock, a lockable box which protects the iPad, and the card reader from damage and theft and has a hole for iZettle’s card reader. The box can be mounted on a wall or on a stand on a table or floor.
The plate is then a fixed location where the customer can go and insert their card, select the product and complete the transaction on the screen. It becomes like a small self-service kiosk. IZettle has no entry fee and no monthly fee. The fee is 2.75% per transaction.
An ipadlock costs from 96GBP and can be bought from: http://luman.se/en/ipad-kiosk/. It is produced in Sweden. – Some have said that I should move production to China, but I want to keep it here in Sweden, said Thorbjorn Lidstrom, who now is looking for retailers in the countries where iZettle is available. In Sweden we have approx. 6000 churches and there is a huge market in Europe waiting for us.
